Three new entries at 27, 29, and 31 HP join larger units in this V-Twin family.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Three new FX Series air-cooled, V-twin engines, designed specifically for commercial riding mowers, light industrial and construction equipment applications are now available from Kawasaki.

These new engines offer power choices from 27 hp up to 31 hp, and incorporate new design features that deliver smooth power output, quieter operation and long-life durability for a wide range of equipment uses. The new line-up includes the FX751v (27 hp), the FX801v (29 hp), and the FX850v (31 hp). They join the FX921v (34 hp) and the FX1000v (37 hp) to complete this full-featured product grouping.

FX Series engines are compact, air-cooled, 90 degree V-Twin engines that feature hemispherical combustion chambers and overhead v-valve technology to minimize engine emissions. The two larger engines, the FX921v and FX1000v, are engineered with 3 valves per cylinder—two intakes valves and one exhaust valve, which improves air volume efficiency for cleaner, more complete fuel combustion.

Other engine design features include twin-barrel, internally vented carburetor with fuel shut-off solenoid, high efficiency oil cooler, dual stage canister air filter and roller ball bearings in the upper crankshaft bearings. The new engines are equipped with high performance lubrication systems and cast iron cylinder liners. Electronic shift-type starter motors make for more reliable starting and longer starter life.

FX Series engines also have steel air shrouds instead of composite shrouds to permit tighter tolerance between the shroud and air intake screen. This results in more complete chopping of grass clippings and less build-up of debris in the cooling fins. Steel shrouds also aid in noise reduction.

“Kawasaki engines have long been known for their high level power delivery, trouble-free performance and fuel efficiency,” says Greg Knott, Kawasaki applications engineering manager. “Kawasaki engines have earned an enviable reputation for durability and long life.”
